At Hyperzoned (“we,” “our,” “us”), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide directly

• Account details – email address, password, and optional name.
• Subscription details – plan type, billing status (we don’t store your payment card).
• Timezone – you provide your timezone so tasks, streaks, and scheduling reflect your local time accurately.
• Profile picture – optional, used for personalization within your account.

b) Payment data

• Payments are processed by Paddle (our Merchant of Record).
• Paddle may collect billing address, payment method, and tax information (VAT/GST).
• Hyperzoned does NOT store your credit card or payment details — Paddle handles all sensitive payment information securely.

c) Usage data & analytics

• We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how Hyperzoned is used.
• Plausible does not collect personal data, set cookies, or track you across websites. It only gathers anonymous, aggregated information (e.g., page views, device type, country).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide and maintain Hyperzoned services.
• Manage subscriptions, free trials, and billing.
• Display your profile picture and apply your timezone for accurate scheduling and streak tracking.
• Send important emails (service updates, billing reminders).
• Improve app performance and understand feature usage via Plausible Analytics.

3. AI Features & Data Sharing with AI Providers

• Hyperzoned uses AI services (like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude) to provide optional features such as task suggestions and productivity insights.
• When you use AI features, we may send task or project details to these AI providers to generate responses.
• We do NOT send personal information (such as your email, profile picture, or billing details) to AI providers.
• AI responses are for assistance only and may not always be accurate. You should review AI suggestions before acting on them.

4. How We Share Your Information

We only share data when necessary:

• With Paddle – for payment processing and tax compliance.
• With Plausible – for anonymous, aggregated analytics (no personal data shared).
• With AI providers (ChatGPT, Claude) – only project/task text (no personal data).
• With infrastructure partners:
  • Hetzner – provides hosting and main server infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare – provides security, performance optimization (CDN), and D2 object storage (used for storing assets like profile pictures or other uploaded files).
• If required by law – to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

We never sell your personal data.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your core account data is hosted on Hetzner servers (EU-based).
• Uploaded files like profile pictures may be stored in Cloudflare D2 object storage.
• Cloudflare also provides an extra security layer (DDoS protection) and performance optimization.
• We apply strong security measures to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee 100% security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Request a copy of your account data (data portability).
• Remove optional data (like your profile picture).

7. Data Retention

• We keep your account data as long as you have an active subscription.
• If you cancel or delete your account, we delete or anonymize most of your data unless required by law to keep billing records.

8. Children’s Privacy

• Hyperzoned is not directed at children under 13.
• Users aged 13–18 may only use Hyperzoned with parental/guardian consent.
• If we discover data from a child under 13 without consent, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you by email or in-app notice.
